Strawberries!!!

Ben wanted to show off his strawberries. We planted them last year as only roots (we bought 50 roots from Burpee online) and this is what they look like this year.

Two years ago we also planted four plants we bought from Lowes or HomeDepo but those have almost all been a bust.The plants have sent out runners and are taking over the whole planter. Yeah, just what we wanted.

This is a picture of our first day of pickings. They are very ripe and juicy; much sweeter than the store bought strawberries. In fact I bought a bunch of strawberries from the store 2 days ago, but we have been eating the fresh ones instead; hence the half empty bowl.
