Westley's First 5K

Westley recently ran his first 5K. I was super nervous about him getting lost, but he did great. He ran it in 23:17. Awesome for an 8 year old!

First Ever Track Meet

Every since he was a little boy, Westley has enjoyed running. A few years ago, when Charlotte was taking gymnastics classes at the community center, he would always want to run around the track upstairs. Even as a five year old, he could run more than me. This year I finally found a track team for him to join. He has been having a great time. He recently participated in his first track meet and one second place in all his events. We later celebrated with ice cream.

Pinewood Derby

Westley participated in his first Pinewood derby recently. His car looked great, but was not particularly fast. We learned a lot for next year!

Giant Sequoia Trees

We were passing through central California and decided to take a little detour to visit Sequoia National Park. We only stayed a few minutes, but it was long enough to get snap a few pictures of the Giant Sequoias.
