Charlotte's a Big Girl!

Ben has been bugging me about "babying" Charlotte. Yes she is a baby, but I was not letting her do things the other kids could do at her age. Well, she is six months old and I finally realized he was right (the pediatrician agreed with him too!). So with in a few days she could sit up by her self, sleep 11 hours without nursing, wear 6-9 month clothes (I was not even dressing her, she was just wearing onsies), and eating sweet potatos, applesauce, carrots, etc (she still hates cereals). She was capable of doing all these things I just was not giving her the opportunity to do so. I guess I just loved her being my little baby too much.

Orlando and Downtown Disney

After a morning at the beach we headed to Orlando for a picnic at the Orlando temple. We tried to get a picture of the kids in front of the fountain, but Westley wouldn't stay in place.

We did, however, get a picture of them in front of the entrance. It was fun to be at the Orlando Temple again; it reminded me of my teen years.

We then headed to Downtown Disney for some fun. We first played in the Lego area.

Then we tried to walk around and get some pictures with some of the Disney statues. Westley did not enjoy that part.

We thought maybe he would like Buzz Lightyear better. But no.

Jenna was a bit more excited to see the Disney statues.

Westley is doing good!

Westley had his surgery yesterday and is going great. By the time we got home you would have never known anything had happened that morning. He had his adenoids taken out and another set of tubes put in. Hopefully having the adenoids out will stop his ears from clogging up.

In the picture above he is eating his favorite snack, cheese crackers, and wearing Jenna's hat. I am glad that he likes crackers and all but he will not eat any crackers that are broken only whole ones. He is silly.

Other Beach Days

We went to the beach four times and every time we went back to took Westley awhile to adjust. The adjustment time got shorter but still he would sit in the stroller and watch the rest of us until he was ready.
Even after he was ready to get out of the stroller he would not put his feet all the way down on the sand.Ben made a little pool for Westley and his cousin Ty to play in, but the water sunk in and the waves were not reaching it often enough. Therefore here it looks like they are playing in dry sand.
Charlotte loved all the beach trips (except the last day when Mommy gave her a toy with sand on it and she got in on her face and in her eyes). I think she loved the calming motion and sound of the waves.

First Day at the Beach

The whole purpose of our vacation this year was going to the beach because none of the children have ever even seen a beach before. Here is how the first day went...

Charlotte seemed to really like the beach. I think the waves were calming to her. The sound reminded her of her white noise at home.

Jenna really liked to play in the sand and look for sea shells, she found a ton of great sea shells when we went to the beach near Aubrey's house.

This is about as far a Jenna would go in the water. She was not scared of the waves but of sharks! As you can see we are missing Westley.

These pictures are of Jenna jumping the waves.

So, everyone was done at the shore and where was Westley? Well, he was back by our stuff sitting in the stroller. You can she him at the back of the picture.

He sat in the stroller for over an hour. He did not even want to get on the sand. When he finally would walk on the sand he walked all crazy around all the divits.

I dragged him down to the shore. I made him sit there with me where the waves would just reach us sometimes. As you can see he would not even put his feet on the ground.Ben made a little pool for him where it filled with water from the waves. He liked it until ...

a wave came and got him!
But later he continued playing. Charlotte had a lot of fun and was so worn out she fell asleep with Daddy.
So it was finally time to go home and guess who would not leave? Yes, Westley!
