Charlotte's ER Trip

So, apparently any fever in a baby under 2 months old is a BIG deal. Friday afternoon Charlotte had a temperature of 101 F. Overall she seemed fine, but while searching the Internet about dosing for a 6 week old I learned that any fever in a baby under 9 weeks is an emergency. So I called the doctor and he told me to go to the emergency room. Anyway we ended up staying at the hospital for 5 hours. They did a bunch of blood work, took some urine, and did a spinal tap. Everything came back good, so they gave her some antibiotics through her IV and told us to come back the next day for a shot. By mid-day Saturday her fever was gone and she was acting normal. She probably had whatever virus the rest of the family had this week, but they told us they take NO chances with young babies.
