Merry Christmas!
We have had another great year full of creating lasting memories. This year we were able to go to Sacramento for Westley’s Track Nationals and then onto Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. It was a gorgeous area of the country and we had a great time!
Ben stays busy with work in the City as the Assistant Leisure Services Director. He is also teaching a class at the University again this year. Ben completed the St. George Ironman in May and a half marathon with Westley in February. He has also been coaching high school swimming. He has also kept busy with serving in the Bishopric in our ward and that has been a blessing to our family.
Jill has been busy homeschooling the kids and chauffeuring the kids to all their activities. She also volunteers for many of their activities, including helping with costumes and backstage. Jill is now serving in the ward Primary and enjoys the children.
Jenna has been busy with her passion - dance. She dances five days a week, 4 days at her regular studio and one day practicing the ballet A Midsummer’s Night Dream. She also participated in a competition team this year and had a great experience. According to Jenna, her best accomplishment this year was earning her Young Women Medallion, which she has worked on for 3 years. She also works hard in her schoolwork and had a great score on her PSAT this fall. She was Flotsam in the Little Mermaid Jr. and assistant choreographer in Seussical. And to top it all off, she is also swimming on the high school swim team this year with her Dad as a coach. She also loves going to Young Womens’ activities, girls camp, and seminary.
Westley loves sports, math, coding, and anything that can be remotely competitive. He played soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, and participated in track, cross country, swimming, and ninja warrior training this year. He ran a half marathon with Ben and got 5th place overall. Westley also enjoys playing the piano and is getting quite good. He has a passion for coding. He likes coding in Scratch best, but he also uses Python and Javascript programming languages. He has also found an outlet for his passion for math. The local school is allowing him to participate in Mathcounts this year, which includes practices and competitions. He also joined a MathClub hosted at the university. His big goals now include going to either Harvard, MIT, or BYU.
Charlotte enjoys the arts, performing and fine. She loves musical theater, dancing, art, drawing, cake decorating, reading, and sleeping. She was in three plays this year, including the part of Mrs. Who in Seussical. She also joined a brand new children’s choir in the area. She loves any opportunity to be on stage and perform. She also enjoys playing soccer and her team was undefeated. She played goalie this year and was never scored on. She has also been watching Youtube to learn drawing and cake decorating. She made Jenna’s birthday cake recently and everyone was very impressed. Her favorite thing to draw is ponies.
