The boys had a very busy day today!
First, they both ran a Half Marathon (13.1 miles). They both ran really well. Westley is honestly just so good at running we don't know what to do with him! He ran 1:30.18 (6:54 min/mile) 5th overall! 1st in age group.Everyone watching was shocked to see an 11 year old finishing so soon. Ben ran 1:40.02 (7:39 min/mile) 16th overall and got a second place medal in his age group.
Then later that night the boys went to a college basketball game with their friends and were chosen to compete in a game during one of the breaks. Ben was a little hesitate to do it after already running 13 miles that morning, but Westley was super excited to participate. Well, they were able to beat out their friends and win.
Forgot to add that the girls were volunteers at the finish line snack and medal area with our ward young women's group. It was perfect because we were able to see them finish.
Also, we were wearing jackets and multiple shirts under those vests! I promise we are not really weirdly shaped people!
