We took a trip to California this summer for Grandpa's birthday. It was a surprise for him and everyone from the family came. On the morning of the first day we took the kids to the museum. The museums are wonderful there. I could not have them miss the opportunity.
We were able to see the space shuttle Endeavour, which has had many trips into space. Honestly our first impression was that it looked like a hodge podge mess. Really, it makes you wonder how the thing every stayed together.
The big surprise for Grandpa was tickets to the Dodgers game. He loves baseball and the Dodgers are his favorite team, but he had not been to a game in many, many years. The game was fun. The Dodgers won and we stayed super late to see the fireworks.
We also bought doughnuts, of course. No where else I have lived has even come close to having good doughnut shops like California. We also went to the beach and swam a ton at the house we were staying at.
